I must admit Darkness Dynamite is the perfect fit for your band name because explosive sounds are coming from your Myspace player. Congratulations on your new Album “The Astonishing Fury of Mankind” which will be released through Metal Blade Records on June 9 2009.
Q: Can you tell us about your new Album “The Astonishing Fury of Mankind” such as the collection of songs and the lyrical content and their themes?
Cris: This album is the perfect blend between 80's metal and actual metal, you will heard powerfull riffs and melodic arrangements. In this album we wanted to talk about the human kind, but with a neutral point of view. We wanted to be like a miror and make a constatation of what the human being is able to do, all the positive and the negative things.
Q: How did you land the opportunity to work with Stéphane Buriez for the recording of guitars, Olivier at Elektricbox Studio, Lille, for the recording the drums and Remyboy at Ahddenteam Studio, Lille for the mixing and recording?
Cris: We wanted to have the best producers for each instruments , the production had to be huge for this album, we wanted to do something with a hight quality. Every professionals who worked on this record are friends too. We need to work with people who have the same goals for the band than us. They liked the music so they really wanted to work on this record with the band. And with all of those facts we've got what we expected !
Q: Will you be producing any music videos from your song tracks off of your new Album The Astonishing Fury of Mankind?
Cris: Of course; For now we're already working on it. we wanted to be a complete band, we are musicians and artists too, we love the idea to put in action our music , lyrics, and vision of our music.
Q: How does “The Astonishing Fury of Mankind” differ from your previous Album “Through the ashes of the wolves" both lyrically and sound and were there any challenges in laying of the song tracks while producing your new release?
Cris: When we did “Through the ashes of the wolves" most of the songs was already written just by Zack, when Cris and nelson arrived as the new members of the band they just arranged some songs. This EP done, we started to write the new album but this time , like a band , with all of us. So we did something more personnal and more representative of the all band. The fact that we changed the singer of the band was very important too, the old singer didn't have the same vision of the music than the others. So we proposed to Junior to be the singer and he brought us the vocals that we always wanted, so its was very natural to made this record.
Q: Are all Darkness Dynamite Albums available to buy in both English and French Version?
Cris: We wanted to be an international band, so we've decided to sing in English, so everyone can listen and understand our music, the album we'll be released in the entire world.
Q: Do all the band members share the same influences for their music and do they like to try new things or new ideas to their sound?
Cris: We all listen differents stuff: metal, death, trash, glam, rock , electro! we just wanted in this album to blend all the things that we loved in each style to take the better things, to let the bad ones and to do it with our vision.
Q: Have you played any live shows; did you receive a great turn out of fans attending?
Cris: Since we started the live shows, they was all sold out. we've played a lot in France, switzerland, and Holland for now, and the shows was always full of people. It seems that people love the band, and the performance on stage, it's a very good motivation to work harder to be always better each days.
Q: When playing live shows do you include songs from your new Album The Astonishing Fury of Mankind in your play list?
Cris: We are really proud of this record, we wanted to share it with the fans, and with the people who haven't heard it. That means that we played almost all the songs of our album in our shows. We love to play it and see the fans reactions, we're always good surprised.
Q: Out of all the music venues Darkness Dynamite has played in the past which stands out as the most memorable or entertaining and why?
Cris: I think that we have two really memorable shows! one was on halloween, we played a show in Paris and it was so much people that a lot of then was obliged to wait in front of the concert hall ! And it was a really crazy show, a lot of people jumping and slamming it was insane ! the last one was in Perpignan, it was almost the same story, people was waiting out and i've seen the bigger circle pit ever! all the people was doing it ! But I think that this question will be more pertinent in 2 weeks, we're going to play with Korn in a huge place, we 're really pround to do it ,so it will be for sure our most memorable and entertaining show for us !
Q: Any crazy and wild stories to tell from past tours?
Cris: To be honest, every day are crazy when we tour, we love to party, we do all that we can to have crazy stories each days. We want to enjoy what we're living.
Q: Whats the bands main goal for 2009 will they be concentrating on a major tour to promote their new Album The Astonishing Fury of Mankind or are they starting to write new songs?
Cris: Both, We're already writting new songs, we love making music, thats our passion so we can't spend one day without playing it. But of course promoters are working on a major tour to promote our album. A lot of people haven't seen Darkness Dynamite on stage and we do wanna give the audience what they want.
Q: Before we wrap up our interview does the band have any shout outs to family and friends?
Cris: Of course, we wanted to thanks to all our family and to the people who loves the band and support it. To each person who believe in the band and help us to make it bigger! we hope to see you on the road!
